This incredible tour will offer you the opportunity to see the major cities in Portugal in a small group tour which will offer you best personal experience as you explore this vast country of beauty. You will visit some of the country’s most impressive sites, including the UNESCO heritage sites in Sintra city, Fatima, Pinhão and Lisbon. Sample Portugal’s fine food and drink, learn about its long and interesting past from an expert guide, enjoy Porto and its beautiful scenery along the Douro River with a cruise.
DAY 1: April 23 - Arrive into PORTO, Portugal (OPO)
Upon arrival at the airport, you are greeted and transferred to our hotel. (You may be arriving from the Spain tour) ** If arriving from the Spain tour you will take the Air Europa flight from Madrid 10:30 AM to 10:50 AM.
Your day will begin in Porto with a walking tour. Experience northern Portugal’s historic city of Porto, known for its curved streets and blend of Moorish and Roman influences. Visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed historic city center, explore Porto Cathedral and Baroque churches, and learn how grapes traveled the Douro River to the coast where winemakers make famous Port. Remainder of the afternoon at your leisure.

DAY 2: April 24 - GUIMARAES – BRAGA
Day excursion to Braga and Guimares. In Braga you will be visiting Bom Jesus do Monte, a Portuguese sanctuary located in Tenoes, on the outskirts of Braga in northern Portugal. This sanctuary is a pilgrimage site that holds a monumental Baroque stairway which climbs as high as 116 meters. From here on, you will visit the historical center of Braga.
Time for lunch then you will continue to Guimaraes. You will visit the medieval Castle of Guimarães (1st place among the seven wonders of Portugal) and the Dukes of Bragança Palace. See the Palace of the Dukes and enjoy some time at leisure to shop in this charming medieval town.
You will drive back to Porto later today.

DAY 3: April 25 - DOURO – PINHAO – BOAT RIDE IN DOURO
After a wonderful breakfast you will head towards Pinhão, the heart Douro Valley Wine Region, classified by UNESCO as Cultural Landscape. You will experience a boat ride in the Douro River among the vineyards and wine estates and visit the Train Station which is decorated with a collection of beautiful tiles showing typical scenes of the Douro valley all related to port wine production. Visit a traditional quinta or Wine Estate for a regional lunch in a traditional Wine Estate.
We had back to Porto with a stop to visit the charming town of Amarante.

Day 4: April 26 - Depart for Lisbon
After breakfast we departure to Lisbon. En route stop at Alcobaça and Óbidos. Porto – Alcobaça around 3 hours driving Alcobaça - Óbidos around 50 min driving Óbidos – Lisban around 1hour and 30 min driving. The Monastery of Santa Maria d'Alcobaça, was founded in the 12th century by King Alfonso I. Its size, the purity of its architectural style, the beauty of the materials and the care with which it was built make this a masterpiece of Cistercian Gothic art and a UNESCO site since 1989.
Arrival at Lisbon. Check in at your city center hotel.
The evening is your leisure to enjoy Lisbon.

Day 5: April 27 - Lisbon Tour
After breakfast we will have a panoramic visit of the city of Lisbon. Start with a panoramic tour and visit the unique Tile Museum followed by group lunch in the museum winter garden.
Afternoon visit Chiado area with its landmarks. Enjoy some time at leisure to explore the local shops.
The evening is your leisure to enjoy Lisbon. (B, L)
Day 6: April 28 - Belem
This morning visit the Belém area starting at Jeronimos Monastery. Continue to the Belém Tower, Discovery Memorial and Map. After lunch, visit one the most well-kept secret of Lisbon, Fronteira Palace and Gardens. Remainder of the day is at your leisure.
This evening we enjoy a Fado show in a unique venue. Remainder of the evening and dinner at leisure. (B, L)
Day 7: April 29 - Day excursion to Sintra and Cascais
Start the morning with a visit at Sintra’s Royal Palace with some time at leisure in the town of Sintra. In the afternoon drive to Cascais following the Atlantic coast. Stop at Cabo da Roca and Guincho beach.
Tonight, enjoy a Farewell dinner in Lisbon (B, D)
Day 8: April 30 - Depart for home
One group transfer to the airport depending on flight times. Private transfers can be arranged at additional $ for airport transfers required outside of the group one. (B)
