Years of travel prepares you for many different situations. After a few trips to different climates, you learn what items are essential to pack and what can stay home. Of course, every woman is different and has different needs and wants while traveling. Needless to say, we believe that this checklist encompasses the “universal truths” of packing.
Checklist for Traveling
Carry-On
-passport/ID/boarding pass/local currency
-cell phone & charger/universal adaptor
-shower/makeup/hygiene kit (pack in carry on in case suitcase gets lost)
-facial cleanser/shampoo/conditioner/toothbrush/toothpaste/deodorant/body wash
-sunscreen/chap stick/lotion/brush/stain removing pen
-feminine products/ headache & stomach pain reliever
-travel blanket and pillow/Smartwool socks
-sunglasses/hand sanitizer/gum
-all valuables (try not to bring any)
Suitcase
-sealable plastic bags (excellent multipurpose item. can be used for storage, dirty laundry, etc.)
-1 pair walking shoes/ 1 pair leisure shoes
– climate appropriate pajamas
-undergarments (bring extras, they don’t take up a lot of space)
-climate appropriate clothing (Stick to basics that can mix and match. As a general travel rule, dark, not easily wrinkled fabrics are best. Think jersey, and items that can be layered if necessary)
What NOT to bring
-towel (takes up too much space and will most likely be available at the hotel)
-your entire beauty regimen (embrace bedhead and simple or no makeup…it’s freeing and can make the best vacations for women traveling alone!)
-guidebooks (we’re here for that!)
